Music is undeniably a fundamental part of being human. It plays a substantial role in culture, social bonds, knowledge building, communication, and even neurological health. This course requires students to tap into the deep power of music while cultivating creativity and collaboration through practical music-making, emphasising improvisation and composition both individually and as a group.
The course will bring students and tutor together. They will create, rehearse, record, and perform new music drawing on the students’ musical passions as a starting point. Following a particularly British approach to music production, characterised by values such as originality, cultural diversity, and an openness to genre-bending music, students will broaden their instrumental, vocal, and writing abilities and hone teamwork, listening, and performing skills relevant to both their careers as musicians and their growth as academics and professionals.
